Free eBook on The Most Important Disciple Making Skill

There is one ongoing mindset that every effective disciple maker has mastered. We want to help to master it too…

It is the intentionality mindset.

Intentionality is at the heart of following Jesus’ method of disciple making. Jesus practiced it, Paul modeled it (2 Timothy 2:2), and the practitioners today swear by it. Intentionality is being deliberate or purposive. It is having and following a plan when making disciples; it is knowing where to take people and how to help them get there.

Intentionality is love expressed by helping another person on the disciple’s journey–it is helping them place their faith in Jesus and then helping them become more and more like Jesus.

Jesus’ love for his disciples was not just organic; it was also strategic. Yes, Jesus was organic. But Jesus was intentional. Disciple making is both, with intentionality being primary.

I like to say that Jesus was “organically intentional.”

Jesus was so brilliant at both loving people in their convoluted life situations and in disciple making, that he embodied a love that was simultaneously relational and intentional–beautiful and imperceptible.

We have been encouraging people to read Brandon Guindon’s new book, Intentional: Living Out the Eight Principles of Disciple Making and we also want to promote a free resource.

I wrote the book, Becoming a Disciple Maker: The Pursuit of Level 5 Disciple Making with Greg Wiens to help you understand and practice the intentional mindset. Click here to download and read the free eBook today! Be on the lookout for listening to the audio book that will be out soon!

Also, check out our upcoming City Tour events in Houston on November 27th, Dallas on November 28th and Raleigh on November 30th as well as the National Disciple Making Forum on May 1-2, 2024 in Indianapolis.
