Join Thom Rainer in Nashville for the Discipleship.org Fall 2023 City Tour

If I were to ask you to list the top 2 or 3 experts on the state of the American Evangelical church—who readily comes to mind? It is not an easy question to answer.

There is one name, however, that I would easily put on that list–Thom S. Rainer.

His research, scope of influence, and current ministry make him a slam dunk. I was blessed to get to know Thom personally about 25 years ago when he served as my mentor in the Doctor of Ministry program at Southern Baptist Seminary. I am not a Baptist, but Rainer’s teaching and guidance changed my life, as a lead pastor and as a trainer of church planters.  He also set me up to have an informed perspective on national and international disciple making.

Many know Rainer for his paradigm shifting book: Simple Church. But Rainer has written or co-written more than 30 books and more than 200 articles. After founding and directing the Billy Graham School of Evangelism and Church Growth (at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary), Rainer went on to become the CEO of LifeWay, before recently moving to the highly popular ChurchAnswers.com where he regularly publishes research and practical resources for church pastors. It is one of the most popular Church leaders’ websites in existence.

I am thrilled to announce that Thom Rainer will be giving a keynote for our Discipleship.org Nashville City Tour on Intentionality in Disciple Making–Friday, October 27, 2023. More specifically, Thom will speak to us about Intentional Discipleship and the State of the Evangelical Church.

Joining Rainer will be other mainstage presenters that will include lead pastors from the Nashville area who will share their practical experiences in helping their churches focus on Jesus-stye disciple making… You don’t want to miss this!  Here are just a few (other speakers to be announced soon):

Rob Sweet – Rob is the Lead Pastor and Teacher at Fellowship Bible Church in Franklin, Tennessee.  Rob holds a BA and MBA from University of Georgia and a M.Th. from Dallas Theological Seminary.  He is a passionate teacher with a relational style and has a heart for disciple making.
Anthony Walker -Anthony is a regular on Jason Whitlock’s Fearless Podcast, He co-hosts Scripture in Black and White Podcast, and he serves as the senior minister for the Highway 231 Church of Christ.
Rob Rogers – Rob found Jesus in his teen years after being addicted to heroin. The same couple he brought him to Jesus also co-founded a church with Rob some time later, Narrow Gate. Rob is now the Senior Pastor of Grace Chapel in Franklin, TN.
