Think of your relationships like this: all of your relationships could be placed on a line with the worst relationship on one end, and the best relationship on the other end. Every relationship in your life is somewhere between the worst and best relationships, and those relationships are always moving. The goal for managing your relationships is to see them moving in the right direction. You always want all of your relationships to be moving in a positive direction.
“Relationships are always moving. The goal for managing your relationships is to see them moving in the right direction.“
The key to managing your relationships so that they are always moving in the right direction is to love other people the way Jesus loves them. Jesus said in John 13:35, “By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” Being a disciple and managing relationships clearly go hand in hand.
When we look at how Jesus loved, we see that love seeks right relationships. God wanted a right relationship with all of His creation. This is the reason Jesus came: to seek and save the lost people one earth (Luke 19:10.) Jesus sought lost people because He deeply loves all people. When we manage relationships correctly, we pursue the people we care about.

Jesus not only loved by seeking, He loved by submitting. Jesus submitted to others. When Jesus went to the cross, He gave up His will for His Father’s will, and for our benefit. He was willing to die to put us first. When we manage our relationships by submitting to those we love, we will be moving in the right direction.
The last way that Jesus loved was by serving. Jesus served because us He loves us. When you have submitted your will for the sake of others, serving them is the natural thing to do. Jesus laid down His life for His sheep because He loved them and placed them ahead of Himself. The best way to manage your relationships is to be a servant. You will be surprised how far serving will go in a relationship.
When you seek right relationships, submit, and serve in them, you are likely moving your relationships in the right direction. It is not always easy to do, but it is that simple. Love the way Jesus loved, and you will be a better manager of relationships.
